The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season presents a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
